Describe how Greek Democracy was a radical departure from Monarchy and other types of early governments of Greece. ; You are going to compare democracy to only ONE of the other types of governments we discussed. Make sure to explain why it was a RADICAL departure.
Ancient Greece started out with a Monarchy. A monarchy is when There is only one king/queen, and they make all of the decisions. That means that nobody else in that civilization could share their ideas, or help rule.
Then, Ancient Greece changed their government to an Oligarchy, because the rich people in Greece wanted to rule. Again, Ancient Greece changed their government. This time, to Tyranny. The poor did not want to have am Oligarchy, because it was a type of government that they didn't like; one ruler. The poor weren't happy, so they picked one soldier from the place, and together, they formed a rebellion against Tyranny. And of course, this lead to another change in government; Democracy. Democracy was when everybody had their fair share in helping the government. Although, women couldn't vote, children couldn't vote, and foreigners couldn't vote. Only men and citizens could vote. I am going to compare Democracy to Monarchy. Whether a government is a monarchy or a democracy, it runs the country, passes laws, goes to war (at times), collects taxes, and so forth. The method of choosing who runs the government is different, and Monarchy is ruled by one person, and Democracy is ruled by multiple people. ( Almost the whole civilization.)
Democracy: Ruled by all the People; This image represents Democracy because democracy is when a place is ruled by the civilians of that particular place.

Monarchy: Ruled by one Person. This image represents Monarchy because in a monarchy, there is just ONE king/queen ruling.
Oligarchy: Ruled by a few People; This image represents Oligarchy because Oligarchy is a type of government that is ruled by a small group of people.
Tyranny: Ruled by one person, but had to take the power by force. this image represents tyranny because the poor did not want to have one ruler again, so they picked one soldier to lead a rebellion for the poor.
