The Republic
Patricians and Plebeians
Explain why the Roman switched from a monarchy to a republic and make sure to include and define the term CHECKS AND BALANCES.
Rome changed from a monarchy to a republic because during the monarchy, anybody could come and murder the current ruler, also, people felt that it was unfair that only one person had so much power. In the Republic, there are many people who could rule, so there was a smaller chance of this to happen. Also, the Romans created a system of checks and balances where all the parts of the republic could make sure that not one part had all or most of the power in the Republic.
